Ring of Fire Developments

The Ring of Fire is one of the richest Canadian mineral discoveries in more than a generation. At this time, the Greenstone Municipal Economic Development Department is working diligently to prepare the region's infrastructure for the impending surge of mineral activity.

Link to Cliffs VideoRing of Fire developments are creating opportunities for expansion across Northwestern Ontario, and as the base-case location for a transload facility, the Municipality of Greenstone is expected to experience growth.

Exton (Nakina) - Ferrochrome Refinery

ExtonA report released on September 20th, 2011 concludes that siting a ferrochrome refinery at Exton (7km west of Nakina, the Municipality's northernmost Ward) for Ring of Fire minerals is technically, environmentally and economically feasible.
